Phenolphtahlein is used as an indicator to test if commerical cement is present in drill cuttings.

How to use:

1. Place sample in watch glass or spot plate

2. Cover sample with thin layer of water

3. Add three drops of phenolphthalein to sample

4. If cement is present it will turn a pinkish red
